Rise HR Solutions was created by Heather Morris who saw small, startup, and growing businesses looking for practical and cost-effective results when managing their workforce.
Since the pandemic, it has become clear that people are at the heart of every business. To thrive, or even survive, it’s the people of your company that keep your business running and growing. Workers are looking for safe, healthy, and engaging workplaces. They want meaningful work where they are recognized and motivated to belong and thus give more.
Rise was created to offer businesses objective, innovative, and friendly solutions to maximize the human capital and potential of their workforce. Rise can service any business on Vancouver Island either in-person or virtually. If your business is elsewhere in BC, Alberta, or Canada, most services are still available remotely. Rise is on Pacific Standard Time but can be available at any time if necessary.

I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. Here is my story:
I’m a born Canadian who got the opportunity to live in Kenya as a child. This experience allowed me to grow into a person who sees herself as a part of the diverse and interrelated global community. When I came back to Canada after travelling around the world, I knew I was different -in a good way- but I needed to find my purpose.
Immediately after I finished high school, I was on my way around the world again. Working overseas, I got the opportunity to work with wonderful people in the Cayman Islands, Scotland, Taiwan, and Australia, to name a few places. I also took some time exploring my own vast country while I continued to learn and work in many areas of business. During this time, I connected with so many interesting and exceptional people in restaurants, finance, non-profits, consumer goods, entertainment, tourism, education, and more. Then I realized the common denominator in all areas of my success was my passion for PEOPLE.
When I was ready to set my professional focus, I understood that my skillset was in Human Resources Management, so I went ALL IN. From working in larger organizations to starting an HR department from scratch, I rolled up my sleeves and started living and breathing HR – 110%.
Recently, after transforming a remote technology company, I realized I could use my expertise to help other companies reach their full people potential. I’ve gained a reputation in the business community for being an empathetic listener who can always find a win-win and down-to-earth solution that provides bottom-line results. Therefore, I defined my purpose as someone who can elevate a business to new heights by building or improving the workforce experience.
I am a Chartered Professional in Human Resources and hold a Commerce degree from Royal Roads University. I’m also committed to ongoing professional development to ensure that modern and best practices are delivered to every unique client.
One last thing you should know about me is that I like to smile so let’s enjoy the journey. 😊
Gratitude towards the Northern Coast Salish Nation including the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, Kwiakah, and K’ómoks First Nations, and many other migratory peoples, who have lived, played, and cared for the unceded land where I now work and live with my family and farm.
